The families page consists of information about the different membrane transporter families and their respective functions. We use the TC System developed by Milton Saier's group which classified all transport proteins found in every kind of species. This information can be found in the Transport Classification Page.

Multiple sequence alignments and phlyogenetic (or relationship) trees were also generated for the Arabidopsis families. As more sequenced genomes are available we will be displaying more trees and alignments. This information can be found in the Sequence Alignment and Phylogenetic Trees pages.
